Wednesday - Arrival! Fly direct from RDU to Chicago then transfer via private coach to the swanky Godfrey Hotel downtown!  If you wish to fly from another city, no problem! Thursday - Frank Lloyd Wright Day!   We visit the early home of one of the most talented architects in the world. Wright certainly thought so! Take in the history of Frank Lloyd Wright at Oak Park plus interior tours of: The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio The Robie House Unity Temple Lunch on your own A little side trip... The Art Institute of Chicago Modern Wing, designed by Renzo Piano Dinner on your own in Chicago

Friday - Mies Day! More of the architect who famously said "less is more"!  Visit the 1951 Edith Farnsworth House in Plano IL, designed by Mies van der Rohe, soon to be the focus of a new movie starring Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Mies and Farnsworth Take a guided walking tour of the IIT campus, much of it designed by Mies van der Rohe Visit IIT Crown Hall, home of the School of Architecture, designed by Mies van der Rohe Experience the IIT McCormick Tribune Campus Center, designed by OMA (Rem Koolhaas) Lunch and afternoon on your own Farewell tapas dinner!

Saturday - Deep Dish Chicago Architecture! Chicago Architecture Center  The Famous Chicago Architecture Boat Tour Lunch on your own and optional Millenium Park Walk (maybe time to find a deep dish pizza place!) Return to RDU

Almost everything's included: Roundtrip direct flight and all airport transfers; three nights at the Godfrey Hotel with a full breakfast every morning; tours every day; all admissions; dinners or parties nearly every night.

The Fine Print:

Once payment is made, there are no refunds for any reason except for if the tour is cancelled. However, you can sell or give your place to another person with at least two weeks written notice to USModernist. 

The itinerary and order of events are subject to change without notice or refund.

No checked luggage; one carryon and one personal item only per person.

Participants must complete a liability release before departing as is standard with all USModernist trips.

There is NO SMOKING of any kind at the hotel, inside or within 25 feet outside.

Parking at RDU airport is not included.

Architects can get self-reported CEU hours if arranged in advance with the AIA.

There is a small but possible risk of overnight stay if flights are cancelled or delayed, in which case participants are responsible for any additional costs of meals, lodging, transportation, and incidental expenses. With over 100 tours, this has never happened, but it could.
