Christine Madrid French A native of Los Angeles, Christine has lived in California, Utah, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She graduated with a B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Utah in 1992 and a masters in Architectural History from the University of Virginia in 1998. Her interest in Mission 66 began during a 1993 assignment to document historic roads and bridges in the southwest national parks. At that time she worked for the National Park Service as an architectural historian with the Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record, transferring later to the National Capital Regional office (1992-1996). Today, Christine is working towards the preservation and documentation of Mission 66 buildings that exemplify modern architecture and post-World War II development in the national parks, particularly Richard Neutra's Cyclorama at Gettysburg, which is in immediate danger of demolition.
