Contrast this view of the "mountain
range" facade versus the entry facade below. Underwood made
reference to the natural environment of the park by treating the
concrete to resemble wood paneling and landscaping the site to disguise
the building from a nearby park road.

In this area the "wood" treatment of the concrete is most
evident. The entrance doors to the lodge are to the right within
the stone wall. A check-in lobby lay beyond the entry. The main
lobby and grandest views (below) are accessed via a wide stairway.
