Keith's Magazine was started in 1899 by Walter J. Keith. In 1899 it was called The Homebuilder; later Keith's Magazine on Homebuilding.  Max L. Keith took over, and by 1910 it had absorbed the Journal of Modern Construction; in 1911 it absorbed Ideal Homes Magazine.  By 1931, Keith's was called Beautiful Homes Magazine.
