Architectural Forum started in 1892 as The Brickbuilder. Initially about brick, by the time of its name change in 1917, the scope of the magazine widened to the art, science, and business of building. It absorbed Architect's World in 1938. Ownership passed through several hands, including TIME and Urban America. Publication ceased in 1974, and the assets were sold to Peter Blake's Informat Publication Corporation, publishers of Architecture+.
